Pegasus, the Flying Horse
Pegasus, well known as the mythical winged beast from Greek
mythology, sprang from the gorgon Medusa’s neck and served
as a companion to the hero Perseus. As the seventh-largest
constellation in the sky with an area of 1121 square
degrees, Pegasus belongs to the Perseus family of
constellations.
Pegasus has a total of fifteen named stars: Algenib,
Alkarab, Anadolu, Biham, Enif, Helvetios, Homam, Markab,
Matar, Morava, Sadalbari, Salm, Scheat, Solaris, and
Tangra.
