Scorpius, the Scorpion
Associated with the myth of Orion, Scorpius, meaning “the
scorpion” in Latin, is a part of the twelve zodiac
constellation family. This constellation pre-dates the
Greeks and can even be traced back to over 5000 years ago.
Scorpius is also straightforward to see as it is located
near the center of the Milky Way.
The constellation Scorpius currently has eighteen named
stars: Acrab, Alniyat, Antares, Dìwö, Dschubba, Fang,
Fugue, Iklil, Jabbah, Larawag, Lesath, Paikauhale,
Pipirima, Rapeto, Sargas, Sharjah, Shaula, and
Xamidimura.
